St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery Located in the city center, St. Michael's Golden-Domed Monastery is named after the patron saint of Kiev. The monastery was originally built in the 12th century but was destroyed by the Soviets in 20th century. It was rebuilt and officially reopened in 1999. Some of the remarkable buildings here are cathedral, a refectory and a massive bell tower entrance.
