The largest city in the state of Wisconsin, Milwaukee is located on the western shore of the Lake Michigan. The city has had its fair share of ethnic influences as this region was, in past, home to the Indian village of Melleoki. This city was also visited by French missionaries and lots of immigrants from Germany as well. Thus there is variety of cultural influences here in Milwaukee. In fact, most of the city's population has German origin. The greatest claim to fame of Milwaukee is of the fact that it is the home of Harley-Davidson, the famed motorcycle.

The Harley-Davidson Museum

Displaying the history of legendary Harley-Davidson motorcycles, the Harley-Davidson Museum is one of the important tourist attractions in the city. The museum features more than 450 motorcycles and artifacts. The most prominent exhibit here is the 'Serial Number One', which is the oldest Harley. This museum also puts on display items related to people behind the machines.

Milwaukee Art Museum

Founded in 1888, Milwaukee Art Museum is an excellent museum, housing over 20,000 works of art. The museum is in a lakeside building, which is a work of art in itself. The major highlights of the museum include many American, European, and contemporary works including drawings, fine prints, and photographs, as well as African and Asian collections.

Pabst Theater

One of the architectural gems in Milwaukee, Pabst Theater is built at the turn of the 20th century. This beautiful theater is constructed in a style reminiscent of the best opera houses in Europe, with a lovely Baroque interior.
