Reasons to book cheap Nairobi flights
The capital and largest city in Kenya, Nairobi evokes all the adventure and romance of its colonial days. The city boasts rich history and culture and is brought to life in its interesting museums. Interestingly, Nairobi is a bustling city but wildlife is its main draw. It is the only city in the world to have a national park within its borders.
Nairobi National Park
The first national park in Kenya, Nairobi National Park is an oasis for wildlife and is located just about 7 kilometers away from the city center. This beautiful park is also a rhino sanctuary protecting over 50 of these critically endangered animal species. Wildlife lovers may also spot buffaloes, lions, warthogs, gazelles, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and ostriches. There are over 400 avifauna species recorded in the wetland.
Karen Blixen Museum
One of the major tourist attractions in the city, Karen Blixen Museum is located at the foot of the Ngong Hills. It’s the former home of the renowned author Karen Blixen. Visitors can tour the well-preserved colonial farmhouse, a coffee-drying plant in the forest, a kitchen in a different building, and an agriculture college on the grounds. Karen Blixen Museum also displays - furniture belonging to the author as well as books and photographs.
Giraffe Centre
Located on the edge of Nairobi National Park, Giraffe Centre offers visitors to witness endangered Rothschil's giraffes. It’s a non-profit center, located on the grounds of the luxurious guesthouse named Giraffe Manor. The visitor center displays information about these creatures.
