Reasons to Book Cheap Venice Flights
This magical city is located in the northeastern part of Italy and is the capital of the Veneto region. A part of it is famous because of its settings, architecture, and artwork and a part is listed under World Heritage Site. Several other names have also been given to the city such as "Queen of the Adriatic", "City of Water", "City of Masks", "City of Bridges", "The Floating City", and "City of Canals. The best way to explore the beauty of the area is by wandering in its streets or strolling by the canals. Almost at every turn one would like to click a picture and keep it as a memoir!
St. Mark's Basilica
Originally the Doge's private chapel, St. Mark's Basilica (Basilica di San Marco), is one of the most easily recognized and best known churches in Venice. The structure has been surprisingly decorated with Byzantine art treasures which were brought back after the fall of Constantinople by Venetian ships. On the facades above the doorways is mosaic art work providing the hint of the artistry inside. The domes and walls are covered by nearly 4,240 square meters of gold mosaics.
St. Mark's Square (Piazza San Marco)
This largest square of Venice is known for the elegance and uniformity of its architecture. It is loved as the living room of the city where all gather for a stroll, drink coffee, meet friends, and enjoy. Under its framed arcades on three sides are fashionable and appealing shops and cafes.
