Reasons to book cheap Puerto Plata flights
The capital of the province of Puerto Plata, Puerto Plata serves as one of the most important trading ports in Dominican Republic. The city is known for resorts such as Costa Dorada and Playa Dorada. The only aerial tramway in the Caribbean is located in the city. The city is tucked between the northern Cordillera Mountains and the Atlantic Coast. At present, the city is still a charm for budget-conscious beach fanatics. Tourists can explore Puerto Plata's several tourist attractions including fort, museums, golf-courses, restaurants, water-park, cafes, and more.
Playa Dorada
The tourist hub of the city, Playa Dorada is a resort complex located along a mesmerizing stretch of golden beach. At Playa Dorada, visitors can find copious hotels, restaurants, a Robert Trent Jones golf course, and a shopping center. The warm waters at the beach are perfect for swimming. Many of the resorts at Playa Dorada offer sun lounges and cabanas.
Mount Isabel de Torres
The most impressive geographical feature of the city, Mount Isabel de Torres is 2,600 feet in altitude and can be accessed via a seven-minute cable car ride up the vertical slope. The top of this mountain offers mesmerizing views of the city, a restaurant, botanical gardens, and a statue of Christ that looks like the famous attraction in Rio de Janeiro.
Damajagua Waterfalls
Including a series of 27 cascades and rock pools, Damajagua Waterfalls is located in proximity to Puerto Plata. The tour to this site includes climbing ladders up to the falls then the tourists have to slide, swim, and jump down wearing lifejackets and helmets. At Damajagua Waterfalls, there is a restaurant and a visitor center as well.
