New Orleans Travelers' Reviews

5New Orleans - Unique, French, Historic, Atmospheric.

This was my third trip to New Orleans. There's a Louis Armstrong song: "Do You Know What it Means to Miss New Orleans." I do know. That's why we went twice this year. The food there is special - unique to the city, and influential to North American food culture generally. I love the laid back atmosphere. The culture meshes really well with my Canadian upbringing. Music is everywhere. You can get around to a lot of places by using the tram ... which was the first in North America, and is fun to ride just in itself, and affordable ($3/day for a jazzy pass). On this trip we visited the Jazz Museum at the historic old mint in the French Quarter. It was one of the highlights. It's a friendly, social city. Strangers reached out to us many times, sometimes with random funny comments. -   Nov 11, 2018
